Anyone who knows me knows that I love some neutrals! Neutrals are my thing. Can neutral be a favorite color? It’s just so easy, relaxed, and you can switch it up anytime you want to. It’s the perfect backdrop on it’s own or with any color or pattern.
With all this talk about neutrals, you would think that I would have a neutral Easter table, but I don’t! Good idea for next year though. This year, I decided to change it up and include my grandmother’s china. It’s anything but neutral, but it goes so well. It just says Spring and she would be so pleased that it’s on my table.
When putting this table together, I used a few tried and true decor tips that I live by. These can be used for any table, any decor, any season.
1. Use natural beauty.
It’s free! I love using nature to decorate. Here, I just took a few weeds green stems from our yard and stuck them in a container. I even included some clippings from my ferns. Stems, flowering branches, bushes…it was all made by our Creator and He is the ultimate designer! Just a heads up – make sure to ask before you start clipping your neighbor’s hedges, but we all knew that, right?
2. Mix and match.
Use what you have. I paired some of my neutral melamine to help “ground” things and give the eye a break from all the pattern. This table literally has my grandmother’s china, melamine, and Ikea items all mixed on the same table!
3. Include subtle touches.
Tuck in a faux nest here and a bunny or two there. It doesn’t have to be overwhelmingly themed.
4. Edit at least one thing.
This one can be difficult, but it’s necessary. This can apply to your table, your bookshelves, or even your suitcase. It helps to give everything a nice, curated look.
5. Add fresh blooms.
This kind of goes back to #1, but it’s worth another mention. What says Spring better than fresh flowers? The grocery stores…especially Trader Joe’s, but even Wal-Mart…have some very good and affordable options. White flowers are my favorite! They go with any setting! There I go again with neutrals. I especially love hydrangea, tulips, alstroemeria, roses, azaleas, or even flowering dogwood branches for Spring decorating. I picked up some eucalyptus from the grocery store, but our miniature azaleas were absolutely stunning this year (and free) so I tucked some in the napkins and included some in a small vase.
Well, friends, that’s it! I hope you enjoyed my Eater tablescape! What are your plans for Easter? Let me know in the comments below.
Happy Spring y’all!
